The Fairie Tale
Chapter 1
Once upon a time
Isn't that how most fairy tales begin?Just like them in this one you'll find
A princess searching for her prince again.
Yes she was beautiful, with green eyes
Framed by light blond hair,
And though her beauty attracted many
Suitors her prince was never there.
She wondered if it were possible
to live her life by just getting by,
always searching for something more
than just this lonely time at her side.
Its not that she ever really gave up on hope
More like she clung dearly to the end of its rope.
Grasping tightly to her unanswered prayer
Of finding someone with her life to share.
Chapter 2
A long time ago, far, far away
in another land that was all drab and gray
There lived a man who was much the same
No, he wasn't perfect nor without blame
But love ruled his heart and he longed for more
Like golden sunsets on some distant shore
And sweeter yet, someone to share them with
A princess perhaps from some fabled myth
He worked with his hands, enough to get by
But he too knew there was more to this life
Though long ago he'd descended from kings
These days his heart knew only what a serf's would sing
Still he toiled on and never lost sight
Of the sunsets with someone whom he just might
Find as long as his heart still beat
He prayed that soon they'd someday meet.

Chapter 3
It happened one night, winters chill air
all riled
The princess went to another land to forget about life for a while
He'd been out frolicking with a few of his friends
And the night was ending how it usually ends
Though this night was different for some reason, you see
A magical miracle was playing out indeed
The princess had a problem, the prince took her hand
He couldn't know then but he'd soon understand
One little act of kindness, followed by nights of love and laughter
And with God smiling on them, they lived
Happily ever after.
